In 2008 Aston Magna presents its 36th season in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. This is the oldest annual summer festival in America devoted to music performed on period instruments. Under the direction of Daniel Stepner, Artistic Director, Aston Magna's performances aim to interpret the music of the past as the composer imagined it. Aston Magna has been recognized internationally for nearly three decades for its contributions to the popularization of early music performed using historically accurate instruments and performance practices.

All Saturday concerts take place at the air conditioned Daniel Arts Center at Simon's Rock College in Great Barrington, MA. at 5:00 pm.

Each concert program is also performed on the previous Friday evening at Bard College, Annandale-On-Hudson, NY at 8:00 pm with a pre-concert lecture at 7:00 pm.

Aston Magna is pleased to announce an expansion of its summer offerings to northern Berkshire County with three Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm at The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute in Williamstown. The Clark offers ample parking, air conditioning and full accessibility. It boasts an outstanding collection of French Impressionist, American, and Old Master paintings, in intimate galleries surrounded by 140 acres of lawns, woods and trails. The museum is open on Sundays prior to the concert time -- a perfect setting for making a day of it, with a stroll through the galleries, lunch at The Clark cafe and a concert.
